The V-160HD uses the same connection technology as webcams,* allowing you to stream events at 23.98 to 60 FPS in Full HD** and reach a worldwide audience. Simply connect the USB-C output to a computer and start streaming with Zoom, Microsoft Teams, YouTube, Facebook Live, or any platform that can use a webcam as its source. Everything is plug and play, with no driver installation needed.

Extensive PTZ Camera Support

Robotic PTZ (pan-tilt-zoom) cameras greatly expand your production capabilities. They provide extended coverage with studio-grade broadcast quality and can be placed in discreet locations thanks to their small size.

The V-160HD includes built-in support to directly control select Canon, JVC, Panasonic, Sony, PTZOptics, Avonic, and VISCA-compatible PTZ LAN cameras.

The V-160HD features a 40-channel digital audio mixer with studio-grade sound quality. Mix any embedded audio signal pair (1/2, 3/4, 5/6, 7/8) from each of the 16 video inputs, microphones and line-level devices connected to the two balanced XLR combo and stereo RCA inputs, and USB-C audio.

And with the convenience of onboard Bluetooth, it’s possible to wirelessly stream music and other sound sources from a phone or tablet as well.

How much latency is there with the input/output?

The latency is as follows.

  • HDMI IN 1-4、SDI IN 1-8: Maximum of two frames
  • HDMI IN 5-8:
    With progressive output signals: maximum of 4 frames
    With interlaced input/output signals: maximum of 5 frames

What formats of still image files can I import?

The following formats are supported.
- The alpha channel is ignored with PinP & Key.

Format: Bitmap file (.bmp), 24-bit color, uncompressedPNG file (.png), 24-bit color* Alpha channel supportedJPEG file (.jpg), 24-bit color

Resolution: In conformity with system format

File name: No more than 64 single-byte alphanumeric characters* The extension “.bmp,” “.png,” or “.jpg” must be added.

Monitoring Specific Input Audio

By using the solo function, you can temporarily monitor audio from a specific input with your headphones.

  • The solo function applies to the headphone output. It does not affect output other than the headphones.

Follow the steps below.

  1. [MENU] button -> “AUDIO INPUT” -> “AUDIO INPUT 1”– “SDI IN 8” -> select “SOLO,” and press the [VALUE] knob.
  2. Use the [VALUE] knob to select “ON,” and press the [VALUE] knob.
    - In the headphones, you hear only the audio for which this is on.
  3. Press the [MENU] button to close the menu.

Adjusting the Volume for Each Input

The volume for each input (USB IN, Bluetooth IN, HDMI IN and SDI IN) can be adjusted on the “AUDIO INPUT” page in the menu.

Follow the steps below.

  1. [MENU] button -> “AUDIO INPUT” -> “USB IN,” “Bluetooth IN,” “HDMI IN 1–8” or “SDI IN 1–8” -> select “INPUT LEVEL” and press the [VALUE] knob.
  2. Use the [VALUE] knob to change the input level, and press the [VALUE] knob.
  3. Press the [MENU] button to close the menu.

Can I control PTZ camera with a USB gamepad?

Yes. With the V-160HD RCS software, you can choose a PTZ camera and adjust the pan, tilt, and zoom of the camera with a USB gamepad that supports "XInput".

Connect the USB gamepad to your computer that has the V-160HD RCS on it. Launch the V-160HD RCS software and click the [CAMERA] button, and the CAMERA CONTROL screen appears.

  • The USB gamepad is already mapped to the V-160HD RCS software and cannot be customized. Please refer to this diagram.
  • The location of the buttons mapped to ZOOM may differ depending on the manufacturer of the USB gamepad.
  • If your USB gamepad does not control the V-160HD RCS CAMERA CONTROL screen, check that "XInput" is supported and enabled on the gamepad. Some gamepads have a physical switch to enable it.

How do I check the MIDI controls I mapped to the V-160HD RCS software?

You can check if your MIDI controller's buttons, knobs, and faders are assigned to the V-160HD RCS remote control software by using the following menu option:

From the menu bar, choose “MIDI” > “Show MIDI Control Mapping.”

Can this unit input the HDMI output from a computer?

You can use the HDMI signal output from a computer, provided that the computer’s output resolution matches the formats supported by the V-160HD.

  • HDMI IN 4–8 support the resolution of signals input from a computer. If you can’t input signals via HDMI 1–4 or SDI IN 1–8, try inputting signals via HDMI 4–8.
